ABOUT TERRACOTTA PLANTERS

Terracotta is made from clay that is fired at lower temperatures than other types of ceramics, making it ‘breathable’. It will allow water and a certain amount of air to pass through, which aids evaporation of moisture from the soil, decreasing the chance of root rot.

This permeability means that the pot may become discoloured over time but the thickness of this planter decreases the risk of significant discolouration.

Terracotta planters are perhaps the most ‘natural’ looking pairing with a plant and are sought after for their synergistic and harmonistic properties in plant displays.
